Teacher Tired: A level of tiredness I did not know existed! + FREE SUPPLIES

Welcome back!

If you are new, Hi!

I am so excited! I just realized I gained a couple of new friends on here!

Update: I lost track of what week this is (Week 3) for me! As many of you may know, I spent the first week of school working with my kiddos in K. With this said, I am now working with my regular first through fifth-grade kiddos and will start serving my K kiddos next week!

Feeling: I’ve been having a difficult time adjusting to my BTS schedule. I wake up at          5:25 am every morning and usually get home around 5:00 pm. As you can tell my sleeping schedule is all over the place! I’ve been spending most of my time doing my LP and looking up research-based interventions for my kiddos. I believe I discovered a new level to tiredness I had no idea existed!

Personal Life: Although my work schedule is currently a little intense at the moment, I am so blessed to be surrounded by my friends!  Seeing them and catching up with them is seriously the best therapy!

Current Goals: I am currently trying to stop drinking Coca-cola but it seems harder than I thought it would be! I also want to make more “teacher” friends! I even started my very own teacher Instagram!  So add me on there it is: _teachingwithjoy

Current Coping Strategies: Avoiding Caffeine, journaling, yoga (my version of it lol )

Side Note: I’ve been obsessing over succulents plants (Echeveria elegans) but I am afraid I will not care for them properly, any advice?

FREE SUPPLIES*: I tried to post the video through here but the file was too large. Find out how you can gain access to hundreds of FREE stationery + educational supplies here: https://youtu.be/hwWesuXt0vc

Teacher-Proof Makeup / What’s in my makeup bag @ school / Whyyy ? !

Hi guys!

Welcome back! Today I decided to share what’s in the mini makeup collection I keep in my desk! To be honest I don’t wear make up every day. I’m usually at school for approximately ten hours! So let’s dive into it!

IMG_4122

*Disclaimer: The products I use are not the ones I would normally wear on the weekends. I enjoy full coverage on the weekends. 🙂 [With the exception of my eyebrow products.. lol)

Let’s start with the primer! I love this primer! The scent doesn’t bother me at all! I received this primer as a gift! (Yes! Lucky me!) I like this one because it doesn’t clog my pores. Remember: I’m at school for a very very long time!IMG_4120

Next, foundation! I’m currently using the makeup forever powder foundation. I’m not completely crazy about it but it’s a light coverage that I can build up if I need to. It’s also the best one I’ve found so far (powder formula) so until I find something better…

Right after, I enjoy using my Fenty concealer to hide my dark circles around my eyes. Yup, that’s right! I’m a very tired teacher (: Since I have not gotten enough sleep, I tend to get dark circles around my eyes. I love using my Fenty one because it is light weightless coverage and it does not crease as much as others tend to.

After, bronzer and setting! I always go crazy with the bronzer but for school, I like to keep it light due to the lighting in the building. I am currently using this one by Kat Von D. I also like to set my powder with the OG (Laura Mercier setting powder) to help it stay longer.

Then, eyebrows! If you know me you know I don’t like my eyebrows and that’s something I’ve been working on since day uno! My fav eyebrow products are the pomade in the shade ebony! My guilty pleasure is that I have three! One for school, one at home, and one in my car! 😂 I also love the Anastasia clear brow gel. I enjoy “cleaning up” my eyebrows with my Nars concealer. This concealer is one of my favorites! I’ve also added the Laura Geller cream concealer to prime my eyelids. (I carry a couple of these repeated items because they are my favorite and my go-to.)

Later, eyeshadows! This was the hardest part to narrow down to just one! This one is by Natasha Denona! ( Yes, this is the only product I can afford off that brand lol!) I picked this one because it’s travel-friendly and it has three neutral shades that I can wear for an everyday look and for curriculum night or late after school function (such as Spirit night) I can easily add the other shades and turn it around to a Smokey/ bolder look.

Next, eyelashes! That’s right! My favorite eyelash curler is this one by Shiseido! This is my OG! In addition, I also had to narrow down my mascara choices! I was stuck between the waterproof mascara by TooFaced and this one by LANCÔME. I ended up going with this one so I wouldn’t miss my TooFaced one at home LOL!

Finally, I end up my look with a thin line of eyeliner and lip gloss! I like to carry my Fenty lipgloss since it is travel size friendly! I don’t have to worry about it being too bulky. (Plus, I love the applicator!)

BTW: Brushes! Here are my favorite brushes/tools ever!

IMG_4126Above (From top to bottom): Mini Beauty Blender (not a brush) Not only do I love how the size makes it so travel-friendly, but I love how it helps me blend in my concealer a lot smoother.  Next, the Sephora Pro Mini is my all-time fav! This travel-friendly brush was my VIB Rouge gift from Sephora! I love how it blends my foundation! Although it’s small, it gets the job done. In addition, my fav. Real Techniques “contour brush”  (came in a set of three) is the real OG. I’ve repurchased the brush (to replace this one on the photo) an insane number of times but although they are the same brand (just a slightly lighter shade, since it was part of their first release) it doesn’t work the same for me personally. SO, I’ve been keeping this one longer than I think I should.

My top 3 ALL-TIME MUST OWN BRUSHES from Mac/Sephora are only these three:

(Top to bottom) The Mac 248: My go-to! Perfect size to help me clean my eyebrow up and also apply my concealer around my eyelids. It also often helps me clean up around my lipliner when I overline. Next down is the PRO Small shadow brush #15 by Sephora (part of their rose gold collection) I am so amazed by how smooth it applies my eyeshadow and the size is friendly to use around my lower lash line! Last but certainly not least is my PRO Crease #10 by Sephora! I was lucky enough to purchase three before the discontinued it (I’m guessing since I haven’t been able to find it anywhere)! It is literally my ride or die, my one and only, the only one I need for a smooth touch!

Fun fact: I tried to record this a couple of times but I accidentally deleted the footage!

Hope yall enjoy this snippet! ^_^

*If you made it to the end, you’re awesome sauce! Thank you all for joining me!

Ttyl! Bye!
